Jake began his journey in academia at an R1 university in Wisconsin, focused on safeguarding intellectual property of world-renowned researchers. On the job, he began to realize patterns in the types of threats they’d face each day filling him with a propensity to deter these threats before they could have impact— introducing him into threat intelligence. In his current role as a Threat Researcher at Best Buy, he fuses his expertise, curiosity, and technical skills to support the Incident Response and Threat Hunting team with insights to detect and mitigate threats to the operational environment.
