In 1986, Joyce founded Alta Associates, the first executive search firm specializing in Cybersecurity and IT Risk Management. In 2002, Joyce founded the Executive Women’s Forum on Information Security, Risk Management & Privacy (EWF). Today, as CEO, she leads the world’s most prominent member organization for women leaders in cybersecurity, risk management, privacy, and technology.
Since its inception, the EWF has engaged over 20,000 women globally and over 100 corporate Benefactor partners. The flagship EWF Annual Conference is a cornerstone event that fosters collaboration, innovation, and career advancement.

In 2019, Joyce furthered her mission to increase the presence of qualified individuals on boards of directors by founding BoardSuited, an online e-learning course designed to help professionals prepare and position themselves for their first boardroom seat.
In 2022, Alta Associates, along with the EWF, was acquired by DSG Global, the largest women-led executive search firm in the country. Joyce managed the private equity acquisition process, negotiations, and closing.
Joyce’s expertise and thought leadership extends far beyond her companies. Joyce currently serves on the board of advisors for Cranium AI, Schellman, and Shared Assessments. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Cybercrime Support Network, the New York University Cybersecurity Advisory Council, the Women’s Technology Council of New York Institute of Technology, and a Board of Trustees of Drew University in NJ.
